I see two basic options for you: Reduce visibility and do something completely different, or stay visible and continue publishing your own stuff under your own name. All the options you cite can be assigned to one of these two categories. I dearly hope you go with the second option, even though I would totally understand if you decide otherwise.

Agree with coffee - properly mentioned. I do so really like the appear - and possibly "nostalgic romance' of some of the Filson goods, that in a way, at times blinds you to the actual practicality of a item. I was wearing a pair of Duluth Trading Corporation "firehose" pants currently - on my knees on concrete pavers and cannot picture a tougher pair of pants ---and may be washed when dirty, not hosed off like oiled tin cloth. BTW, just sold my Tin cloth moncler jackets nowadays - to a neighbor of all folks.
I recently spent 1/2 hour rewaxing the coat - with dryer in hand, operating that wax/oil into each pore of that coat. Walk to the store in a light moderate rain (20 minutes, possibly) and low and behold, my shoulders are wet, effectively 1 shoulder was wet, the other dry. This was a 20 minute exposure, I can only picture being within the field or horseback riding for a couple of hours and how totally soaked via my clothes would be!
I've switched to un-oiled tin cloth for hunting etc and it offers concerning the identical protection from wind and light rain but it's genuine versatility is protection from brambles and thorns.
